Kyiv

• 12th Yalta European Strategy (YES) Annual Meeting opened today in Kyiv at the Arts Arsenal. This year, it will focus on the global impact of the events in Ukraine. The Meeting will be attended by the former head of the European Commission Barroso and US Assistant Secretary Nuland.

Ukraine at War

• The Headquarters of the Antiterrorist Operation have reported that the truce in Donbas that has been observed for the second day now allows for starting the reconstruction of the destroyed infrastructure facilities. According to official data, one soldier was wounded in the previous day. During the day, two soldiers were killed, a several more wounded in the Luhansk oblast as a result of walking into tripwire. Losses from tripwires have been also reported among civilians.
• President Poroshenko refused to negotiate directly with the representatives of the militants, as urged by the Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov.
• One of the leaders of Donbas militants Khodakivsky said that the reintegration of the occupied territories of Donbas in Ukraine is conditioned on Kyiv giving up its demands that the equipment and the mercenaries be withdrawn to Russia. According to him, Russia supports DPR financially and controls appointments.
• Russia's Investigative Committee opened criminal cases against Defense Minister Poltorak, Chief of General Staff Muzhenko, other leaders of the military department and MP Lyashko.

Ukraine and the World

• NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg said that the truce in Donbass has been observed, but to monitor the situation, it is necessary for the parties to withdraw weapons.
• Gazprom continues to supply gas to the occupied territories of Donbas. According to head of Gazprom Miller, deliveries are carried out under a contract with Naftogaz.
• A tripartite protocol with the EU on gas supplies to Ukraine may be signed, providing that it stipulates the obligations of all the parties.
• Ukraine has closed its airspace for Russian military transport aviation flights to Syria.
• During the visit of Prime Minister Yatsenyuk to Slovakia, the parties agreed that the construction of another branch of the Nord Stream, besides having an adverse impact on the interests of Ukraine and Slovakia, will increases the EU's dependence on Russian energy supplies.
