Verkhovna Rada introduced legislative changes, which permit to conduct criminal investigations on persons, who are in hiding. These changes will allow to perform judicial acts in absentia on the cases against former president Yanukovych and his fellows. Also Verkhovna Rada in the first reading adopted laws creating the Anti-Corruption Bureau under the strategy developed by the Cabinet of Ministers, and the law on the prevention of corruption, providing a mechanism for declaring incomes of officials.

Prosecutor’s Office launched criminal proceedings against Ministry of Defense officials, who’ve purchased fuel and ammunition under artificially inflated prices, as well as against ex-Minister of Defense and Chief of General Staff, who’s activities led to the collapse of the army and its defensive capacity.
